The starting point for my work is an observation that can change quite a lot along the way. The topics are often about nature as well as the environment.

The lines and shapes of the gray rock have been my subject for over a decade. The changing color and light phenomena of the archipelago have taught me to see the world with new eyes. The media of the works today is watercolor, which conveys the landscape of the outer archipelago in a simplified and unobtrusive way. Watercolors are a suitable tool for difficult terrain.
I have grown slowly to an artist. From 1996 to 2017 I worked as a graphic artist at Finnish Broadcastin Company (Yle). I graduated from the Lahti Institute of Design as a graphic designer where I later studied multimedia. For a long time, the graphic artist's work satisfied the need for creation and image production.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree 2013 from the Turku Art Academy. I am a member of the Painters' Union and take part in the Artist Register. I live and work in Pori.

Anne Kimiläinen lives and works in Pori, Finland.
